The connection details
This is everything an assistant needs. There is no API key, nothing to install and nothing to paste back. StockMarket Dashboard is not in the assistants' own directories yet, so you add it yourself as a custom connector.
- MCP server URL
https://app.stockmarket-dashboard.com/mcp- Transport
- Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in
- OAuth — you sign in to StockMarket Dashboard in your browser
- Access
- Your stored data: watchlists, notes, AI chats and dashboard layouts
Before you start
- A StockMarket Dashboard account on the Pro plan, signed in on at least one device. AI connections are a Pro feature; every new account starts with 7 days of Pro.
- An assistant that can add a custom MCP connector. Assistants keep these on their paid plans and set them up on the web, so if the menus below are not where this page says, check your plan and try a browser. The two walkthroughs cover Claude and ChatGPT; every other tool follows the same three steps.
Claude
- Open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
-
Name it StockMarket Dashboard, and as the remote MCP server
URL enter
https://app.stockmarket-dashboard.com/mcp. Continue. - Choose Connect. A StockMarket Dashboard page opens; sign in with your account.
- Approve the connection. You are returned to Claude, and the connector is listed as connected.
ChatGPT
Custom connectors are behind developer mode, because ChatGPT has not reviewed them. That is a one-time setting.
- Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
- Open Settings → Plugins → Browse plugins, then choose + at the top right.
-
Name it StockMarket Dashboard, set the server URL to
https://app.stockmarket-dashboard.com/mcpand leave the authentication on OAuth. - Confirm the warning about custom servers and create it.
- Connect it. A StockMarket Dashboard page opens; sign in and approve the connection.
Any other tool
Anything that supports a remote MCP server and its OAuth sign-in works the same way: give it the URL, let it sign you in, approve. The connector registers the client itself, so there is no ID or secret to create. A tool that cannot sign in this way cannot connect at all — the address answers nothing without it.
Menu names move around as assistants change. If a step is not where it says here, look for whatever the tool calls a custom connector, a remote MCP server or an MCP endpoint.
What you approve
The approval screen is StockMarket Dashboard's own. It names the assistant that asked and the account it will be connected to, and it says what the connection may do: read your stored watchlists, notes, AI chats and dashboard layouts, add or remove watchlist symbols, and create or edit notes. There is one permission; you approve it or cancel.
What the assistant can do
It works with what you have stored in the dashboard:
- see your watchlists and their symbols, and add or remove symbols;
- read your notes — on a symbol, on a watchlist or free-standing — and write new ones or edit them;
- read your journal, with your notes and AI chats in the order they happened;
- read how your dashboards are laid out, down to each panel's settings.
It does not receive market data: no quotes, charts, fundamentals or company lookups come through the connection. It cannot delete anything, it cannot change a dashboard, and it cannot widen its own access.
Things you can ask once connected:
- “Which symbols are on my Leaders watchlist?”
- “Add NVDA and AMD to my Semiconductors watchlist.”
- “What did I note about AAPL, and when?”
- “Summarize my notes from last week.”
End a connection
In the dashboard, open Settings → AI → Configure Connections. Every connected assistant is listed there with Disconnect; the same window holds the server URL with a copy button.
A disconnected assistant is refused on its next request, at the latest within a few minutes. Deleting your StockMarket Dashboard account ends every connection with it.
If something does not work
The approval screen shows the wrong account
Sign out at app.stockmarket-dashboard.com, then start the connection again from the assistant.
The approval fails
AI connections need the Pro plan. Open Settings → AI in the dashboard: it shows your plan and, on Free, the way to Pro. Then approve again from the assistant.
“The connector is paused”
New connections and requests are briefly switched off on our side. Try again later; disconnecting still works meanwhile.
The assistant reports it lost access
The connection was ended in the dashboard, the Pro plan ended, or the account changed. Connect again from the assistant.
Privacy
What the assistant reads leaves StockMarket Dashboard and is then handled under that provider's own terms. Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service describe what the connection covers on our side. For anything else, write to us — see Contact.
